About Gulf Air
Gulf Air is the national flag carrier of Bahrain and its main hub at Bahrain International Airport is located at Muharraq Headquarters. The plane has reached 49 destinations in 27 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
The airline is one of the oldest carriers in the Middle East, dating back to the 1940s, with an air taxi service between Doha and Dhahran. The air taxi service was registered in 1950 as Gulf Aviation Company Limited with major stakeholders, including the British Foreign Airways Corporation (BOAC). In 1974, the governments of Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Oman acquired 25% of Gulf aviation, where it was soon renamed Gulf Air. However, in 2002, Qatar announced that it would withdraw from Gulf Air to focus on its flagship Qatar Airways. Abu Dhabi did the same in 2005 by announcing its focus on Etihad Airways, withdrawing Oman in 2007, and leaving Bahrain to claim full ownership of the airline. More: Gulf Air Dhaka
